I'd like to see better graphics in ebook readers as well, and I think the Nook is a step in that direction. The 1rst gen Kindle is also noticeably bigger than the later versions but those don't have back lighting either. Seems like a feature that would be a no-brainer.

I have a 1st generation Kindle. I really like it. I wish though I had waited. The second generation Kindle came out about 3 months after I bought the first one. I don't like that I can't charge the Kindle with a USB. I think that was fixed in the 2gen Kindle. I also wish it had backlighting. I realize that real books don't but since this isn't a real book I don't see why they can't add in that feature. I originally bought my Kindle for grad school to read my ebooks. It made life easier but the graphics are not great. Would love to see an ebook with great graphics.

The Nook lets you search and sort but not organize the list in the way you want. Too bad, seems like a feature both readers should have.

One big disadvantage to the Kindle that I don't know if has been fixed on the Nook is the inability to organize and archive books on the Kindle itself. Very annoying when you have hundreds of books that you want to search through. On the other hand, one positive for the Kindle is the truly awesome M-Edge accessories including a great book light that perfectly fits the Kindle.

I really like the Nook, especially the wi-fi capability. $100 off the Kindle though is a great price for one :) Good luck!

I've been trying to decide which to buy but this seals it for me - it's the Nook, unless I win the $100 Amazon gift certificate at Passports With Purpose.

I don't, but got to travel around with a Kindle (gen 1 and 2) for a while to play with it. I'm leaning strongly toward the Nook but I'm going to wait a bit more before making the purchase.

Your comment has made me feel better about the "book feel" of the readers. As much as I love technology it's hard for me to change with a few things - in this case, give up physical books. Probably because I can't get distracted with anything else on them! If they ever add Twitter to the eReaders I'll be doomed.
